Review on Oreck Commercial Upright Cleaner XL2100RHS by Debbie Calloway

This vacuum sucks. Dirt like the others

I bought this vacuum cleaner 13 months ago and decided it was time for a quick review. I'll start with the positives: 1) This thing is lightweight, about as much as a gallon of milk. My previous vacuum was a cheap (by cheap I mean about the same price as this one) dirty heck and easily weighed 20 pounds. 2) The vacuum cleaner is easy to use if you ever need it. You can disassemble it in 10 or 15 minutes with no more than a #2 Philips, replacing the motor shouldn't take more than 20 minutes but judging by the size of the thing it should take a while, the carbon brushes are huge too So I don't expect to have to spend $75 to replace them this decade. 3) It's powerful, the aforementioned powerful motor sucks up everything from stale cereal my 1 year old hid behind the couch for later, to my wife's forgotten hair ties, to every cord I forget to pull out of the Away before I start vacuuming. I assume the belt will fail before the motor if it ever gets stuck. I see people talking about not being able to lift things against walls, but when you're going forward instead of sideways it's pretty annoying. 4) Replacing the pouches is easy, just grab each side of the hole on the hard cardboard piece and slide it straight to the connector. 5) it's cheap! They don't have many features, but it's a vacuum to scream out loud! You get a lot of crap for the dollar. Cons: 1) No investment, but you should already know that. It's a vacuum cleaner and that's it. 2) damn loud, but that doesn't mean you have to listen to it all day every day (if not, bring earplugs) 3) those straps are hard to change, but you only have to do it once or twice a year , changed my first today after 13 months of use. Be prepared to handle your vacuum by hand to put the brush back in place once the belt is on. In summary, you get what you pay for. Oreck compromises on features to give you a good vacuum for the price.
