Review on πŸƒ Garmin Forerunner 245: Advanced Dynamics GPS Running Smartwatch in Slate Gray by Adam Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very useful watch! for running GPS modules

Pros: Very durable - I wore this watch during the Super Spartan Race and it handled the running, climbing/crawling obstacles and the occasional wet obstacle very well. Small enough (not too bulky) to fit comfortably under my long sleeve compression shirtVery accurate on heart rateVery accurate on stimulationVery accurate on heart rate (when it's on)Very accurate on mileage, my old Fitbit that I used) Can Play music through bluetooth headphone function. Can send text messages to people using simple canned messages. Steps if for some reason you can't wear the watch on your wrist (I'm an LMT and can't wear my watch all the time. But it still picks up steps when it's on the ankle, in a pocket, or hung around a belt or a belt loop) You can add widgets (apps) to help you keep track of things you find useful. You can add music providers to listen to your stations or playlists. The alarm part works as expected. Now that it works, it doesn't always keep track of things for me. It's very tedious to set up - I recommend finding the person on YouTube who reviewed this watch and keeping an eye on them to make sure you're changing your settings to your liking. At first I tried to do it myself and I got something. but they have very detailed reviews that don't miss a thing. Overall this is a great watch if you give it time when you first get it to change its settings to help you the most. Keep in mind that if a feature doesn't work for you or you don't like the way it is, most likely it can be modified to better suit your needs. (I didn't like the heart rate monitor at all when I was running and exercising, but after changing my settings to track my pace during exercise, I really saw a feature in this watch that my other watches didn't have)

Pros
  • running GPS modules
Cons
  • slightly torn
