Review on Camco Vinyl Insert Inhibitors Extended RV Parts & Accessories by Adam Abner

Revainrating 2 out of 5

There is a difference in the finish of the vinyl insert. Let me explain-

Everything I have written below is my personal opinion based on years of travel trailer repair/restoration/restoration. I use, have and will continue to use Camco products. But not this one. I have replaced many vinyl inserts. I needed a roll to finish the camper ASAP (my 1000ft roll ran out) so I added a 25ft Camco 25202 roll to the Revain quick order because I had NOT thought it through. Big mistake. There is a difference in the finish of the vinyl insert. This Camco product is inexpensive but not worth the hassle. Camco 25202 is rock hard, light cream in color and relatively inflexible in width. The profile also does not match almost every roof skirting board. It's not worth fighting and fighting sore fingers against in the roof edge molding, and when you (eventually) install it there's even a chance the screw heads this product is meant to cover will show through the insert trim (as bulges). , especially hexagonal screws. Camco 25202 cracks easily in cold weather and yellows quickly in areas of the country with more sun exposure (e.g. South Texas). I replaced the Camco liner on RVs in South Texas that were yellowing enough to make the liner look burned. I prefer JR Products 10121 White 100ft Premium Vinyl Insert. JR Products 10121 installs easily, covers pan head and hex head screws without dishing, is snow white compared to Camco's product (which has a slight yellowish tint) and is almost twice as thick as Camco's product according to my micrometer. I can slide the JR Products insert into the roof edge molding with my thumb as fast as I can move it along the molding and don't have to struggle every inch with the Camco trim. If I like JP products and dislike Camco products, why did I buy Camco products? Because I was in a rush, didn't want to make the 90 mile round trip to my dealership and frankly it's been so many years since I've used anything other than a JR Products finish, I forgot what an amazing one cumbersome product Camco was.
