I bought this scale primarily to weigh coffee beans for grinding, but I also plan to use it to measure mineral additions in home brewing. However, there seems to be some confusion about how to calibrate the scales. I have a 100g weight that I have used to calibrate previous scales but have not been able to figure out how to change the calibration weight (default 500g). The instructions provided are wrong, but I was able to find a comment by Rick M. describing the correct way to do it. In short, the instructions advise you to press and hold the M button for a few seconds to enter calibration mode, and then press M again to see the available calibration weights. Instead, you have to use the T button to cycle through the different weights available. After making your selection, press M again to start the calibration process. I was also a little confused as to whether the batteries should be included. The specs on the product page say they are not included, but the box the scale comes in says batteries are included. I emailed the support email address listed on the package but never received a reply. It's not a big deal, but be prepared to have 2 AAA batteries handy when they arrive. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and plan to purchase another one for office use.
