I couldn't decide on the size for my one and a half year old grandson's thick legs. He's 5 inches tall (but he usually has trouble with being bulky). I bought the size 5-1/2-6" from this brand because the price was good and the leg opening looked a little wider than other brands (again, reminiscent of his kankles). He loves them! Couldn't wait to see them putting them on and then got out within 5 minutes. My daughter went online immediately and bought the 5" which barely fit but stayed (I'll let her check them out).
