Review on 🚗 Banks Engineering 51312: Stainless Steel Jeep Wrangler Cat Back Exhaust System with Muffer in Silver by Ben Rodriguez

Overall, I love every Banks product I've bought, including the monster exhaust pipes for the other two cars. However, I was a bit disappointed when I got it. Other kits I've used have worked in under an hour; This kit took 3 hours to complete due to poor fit. First, check your vehicle's catalytic converter type. If the cat has a flange connection, kit 51313 MUST be used Kit 51312 is a straight tube with U clamp. Note that pics 51312 and 51313 show one exhaust pipe but both kits are two piece. According to Banks, the front pipe differs in muffler length. Well, even that differs from the Banks installation guide, which shows one tube for kit 51312 and two pieces for kit 51313. In my experience, both kits have the same front tube shape and length, although each has a different part number. I know this because I ordered the 51313 kit first, so I still had it on hand when I got the 51312 kit from Revain. The front tube of each kit didn't fit no matter what angle I tried to use. At first he didn't release the emergency brake cable, then he kept hitting the stabilizer bar from all sides. I ended up having to remove the brake cable and then connect the pipe and muffler together as one end was pressed against the tie rod and the other connected to the cat; It could have been easier if I had dropped the skid plate, loosened the spool on both ends, etc., but it's a lot more work than the instructions would suggest. Once assembled it barely touched the stabilizer bar but I had to wrap the brake cable and smack it with heat reflective tape. I think maybe my front pipe was mislabeled.
