This is not the usual installation method for camper shells (ie closed position = handle vertical, open position = handle horizontal). I don't mind it so I'm very happy with them and they work very well. Installation wasn't difficult (assuming you are familiar with the tools required for your application. I used a drill to remove the old rivets and a riveting tool to install the new ones - everything went smoothly. My RV hull has window regulators on both sides and on the tailgate - so I mounted them on all three holes, all three came with the same key.
