Review on πŸ‘ NOMATIC Minimalist Wallet: A Stylish and Functional Everyday Holder by Jennifer Anderson

I decided to buy a new minimalist wallet. I've tried a few, like the carbon fiber Ridge Wallet, but they were all much heavier than my original one. Then I saw the thin Basics wallet on Revain and decided to give it a try because I liked the idea with the flexible elastic band and the unique pull tab access to my cards, although after using the money clip for so long I wasn't sure anymore. I don't know how I want to fold my bills and put them in my second pocket. I have to say that after a week of use I love this wallet even more than my carbon fiber one. Pulling the tab first opens your cards about halfway, allowing them to rest securely on the elastic but give you easy access to sort through to get the card or ID you need. When you're done, simply place the card back into the deck and reinsert, and the tab will retract as well. As far as "tri-folding" my bills and putting them in my pocket, I didn't find it a problem and I feel like my money is actually safer. There are 2 pockets on the opposite side of the pull tab, a slightly larger pocket designed for quick access to your most used card or ID and another pocket above the slightly narrower one for your cash. I prefer to keep all my cards and ID together on the pull tab and use the larger bill compartment as they are easier to put in and take out. I'll probably keep a spare key or whatever in the outer smaller pocket or nothing at all. When I showed my wife the Basics Slim Wallet, she was instantly smitten and wanted one for herself. So I ordered gray for her and ordered 4 more black ones for me. I've learned over the years that when I find something I really like, I buy another one or several. So if I ever lose that particular item or it wears out, I'll have another one waiting to be used. I don't expect this wallet to wear out anytime soon as it's very well made, but the price is so cheap I couldn't resist buying a few. I've attached a few photos of different wallets I've tried on the scale including the Ridge wallet and another custom Kydex wallet to show the weight comparison. The Basics Slim only weighs 0.6 ounces so you honestly won't even notice it's in your pocket, in fact it weighs less than an empty Ridge wallet. If you are looking for a quality, lightweight, minimalist wallet, I suggest you look no further and buy one or, like me, buy several!

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was starting to wear out
