Review on General Tools CF2445 - 24-Inch Graduated Ruler by Nate Jenkins

I have decided to return this without trying and checking for accuracy. For the price I wasn't expecting a Starrett but reasonable quality. This is not the rule of a brick-and-mortar $6 store. The workmanship was so bad that all I wanted to do was put it back in the box and send it back. The ends were rough and not square. The first engraved graduation was more than twice as far from the end as from the following markings. One edge was rough and pitted, and in places the engravings didn't reach it. The edge was machined to straighten it but not to the bottom of the indentations and there was a very sharp burr where the machine went through. It could all be because I received a bad one, but if their quality control is that way is bad, I don't risk exchanging it for another one. I'm replacing it with Mitutoyo because of their reputation, price and the excellent Mitutoyo caliper I already have. Starret is overpriced and probably better than what I need. I cannot recommend this product to anyone. If it's good enough, you might as well do less.
