Review on Creative Wedding Florals You Make by Jessica Lewis

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cheesy and tasteless

Most of the designs in this book are really dated and tasteless. There are several points where the author suggests using silk flowers. Not making these yet?!?! The headpiece she is showing looks like it came straight out of a kid's costume drawer. There is literally a square of craft tulle attached to the back! I could have done something more elegant and believable without guidance. The author relies heavily on plastic and foam tools to create her bouquets, and her shape and color choices are definitely dated. If you want your wedding to look like a low-budget throwback to the 1960s, read this book. On the plus side, there are good boutonniere instructions, although I would advise against using old-fashioned sprigs of baby's breath. Another plus is that you will laugh a lot at the wedding dresses worn by the models. Wedding Anniversary at FLDS Complex!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
