I have a lot of radios. What I love about this radio is that it's compact, light weight, easy to use, durable and has amazing reception. It uses available AAA batteries. Rechargeable batteries are an option as the radio has a USB charging port. The radio sounds good for its size, its shape for intelligibility rather than high fidelity as it's too small to deliver much bass. There's no headphone jack on this no-fuss digital radio and while it's rechargeable, you have to include a cable and power supply, which aren't included at this competitive price. The manual is more of a manual that tells the user how to set the clock, turn it on and off, tune the radio, turn the notifications on and off, and change the batteries. Very easy. I have found this radio to suffer from significant sensitivity/reception loss when used within 6ft of running digital devices such as a laptop, even when in sleep mode. Of course, if you charge this little radio from your computer's USB port, reception will be poor while it's plugged in. This is not the main disadvantage. By the way, there are also other digital radios that have similar reception losses in the vicinity of laptops. The small flashlight is a nice feature that makes this compact radio useful for camping, hiking and/or emergencies/power outages.
