We LOVE both of our Berks! We can't help it! We've had them for years, we use two black filters but not two white ones so they must be for filters and any draining. The only thing we really hate about this device, or any device, is the filter cleaning, but once they're cleaned, you don't have to clean them for a few months, which is better than all those heavy water bottles in the car and then in the house to drag. We've had them for years, we use two black filters but not two white ones so they have to be for filters in every draining process, the only thing we really hate about this unit or any other unit is cleaning the filters, however after cleaning, you do not have to clean them for several months. It's better than lugging all those heavy water bottles in the car and then in the house. The plastic is very durable, the black Berkey filters last 10 years, the entire installation costs around $250 each, and with filters you can't beat it. I would highly recommend the clear plastic block and have recommended it to our friends too! Get one!
