Review on πŸ’Ύ High-capacity Toshiba Canvio Basics 2TB Portable External Hard Drive USB 3.0 in Black - HDTB420XK3AA by Kristen Simpson

Toshiba HDTB420XK3AA Compact, fast, spacious - my review about it

Changed my car the other day. Duri increased significantly, but the data storage scheme in terms of volume remained the same: 128SSD + 1000HDD. Considering that there are almost no toys less than 20 GB, the screen capture is written in FullHD, and there are already more than 100 GB of unsorted photos, the volumes are more than modest. Therefore, I decided to buy an external drive for file cleaning. Terabyte screws cost +/- 3000-3500 rubles, two-terabyte screws cost between 4800-5000 rubles, and then the cost of a terabyte remains at the level of 2500 rubles. Accordingly, it is less profitable to take less than 2TB - I took one from Toshiba. The screw came in a cardboard box, inside there is a disk and a cable for connecting to a PC. What pleases is the compact dimensions of the device: a 2.5 "form factor (weight within 150 g), increased only by the thickness of the plastic casing, which is smaller than the Huawei 4C Pro smartphone - heaven and earth compared to a ten-year-old terabyte WD the size of a weighty a book and an external power supply - easily fits into any pocket. The case of the disk is plastic, the word "design" can hardly be applied to it, but in any case it is more than ascetic: a black box, a blue LED indicator of operation. What I would like to note is the absence of any legs or something like that: the disk is prone to slipping on the table and brushing it off more than just, be careful - you can’t drop the screws (reviews in the spirit are touching: "I only once I dropped it off the table, and it cracked and died, dislike!!! 11). USB 3.0 disk interface, micro USB type B connector, complete cable approx. 40 cm long. Rumor has it that there are problems with the loose sockets of these connectors, but even without this I try not to pull out the cable from external drives without the need. The drive comes already formatted in NTFS, so you can use it right out of the box. In the CrystalDiscMark program, the test results are as follows: The speed is obviously lower than that of 7200 rpm drives, but Toshiba holds its own in its segment.
