Nice little flashlight with a blemish. The switching mechanism is to press the clear plastic part of the light - once to light up and twice to blink. The black case unscrews so you can replace a pair of CR 2032 batteries. The downside is that if you screw the case on tight, the light switch won't work. Leave it a little loose and it works like a charm. It seems that the way the two parts of the case come together is putting too much pressure on the electronics and interfering with the clicking mechanism.
