Update November 2020 - I vote for the stars as I haven't found two coffee grinders that last very long. The light on one of them stopped working; both had to open them regularly to insert the batteries because they were unreliable; One of the two coffee grinders stopped working and just made a loud mechanical noise. I love them for their concept but ended up buying a replacement because they couldn't work consistently for me. , and not in my previous situation where turning the mill manually required both hands. This is a great convenience for a secondary quest, so I really appreciate it. The light on the bottom is pretty nice - I don't know what problem it's supposed to solve (I never grind salt and pepper in the dark). and I haven't discovered yet that it's what I NEED, but it's quite fun. Perhaps this is a feature that other people find useful in a coffee grinder. I have doubts about adjusting the soil for the grit. You can turn it clockwise to make the grains smaller and there comes a point where it's basically all the way up and you can't turn it any further. However, if you want to make the grit coarser/coarser, turn it counter-clockwise and there is no stop, you just unscrew the small disc. It would be better if you could rotate it that far in any direction. Also, the dial/knob is relatively loose when not rotated to the smallest/smallest position, so I don't even know if it stays in place. Finally, at this point, I honestly didn't notice much of a difference in grain size when adjusting this dial. When I watch the granules appear they always look like a mixture of large and small, from visible granules to an almost powdery state. PERSONALLY I don't have a problem with that as I don't care about the grain size. However, if this feature is important to you in order to have UNIFORM grain sizes of your salt/pepper, you may be disappointed. The fact that they each use 4 AA batteries was a little annoying. That's important, and I think the device itself could maybe be made a bit more efficient so it doesn't need as many batteries to run it. grinder (I assumed the part behind the metal also doubles as storage) so filling the grinder doesn't take long (and it's a narrow opening so it's best to use something like a funnel if you're don't want to make the same mess as ME!). Overall these grinders are easy to use and I appreciate the push of a button to add some freshly ground spice to my meal. I give it 4 stars for all the little touches that could improve the product, but I still find it serviceable and it satisfies my needs as an amateur home cook.
