Great hatch! suitable for baby and toddler beds

With our second child, my wife wanted a bassinet that she could put right next to the bed to look after our little one. That worked great, but there are a few things we'd like to change if we could. Assembly was easy. I got it done in no time, although I scratched my head a few times as to how the actual mattress topper fitted together. But he did it quickly. The size is positively spacious. Our little girl will be able to use it for quite a while. It's well made and we have no problem putting it there. It's very adjustable and we love that we can raise/lower it a size as our child gets reflux very easily and it seems to help raise her head. Settings are easy and safe. Again, we're not worried it might be a problem, and that's a relief. It works very well next to the bed. We have a _very_ high bed and were concerned, but it (barely) goes to the top of the mattress which is "good enough". It's easy for my wife to spy on a child. However, since it barely touches the top of the bed, we didn't need or could use the fold-down part, so can't comment on that. Some things we didn't like about the bed: We don't like that the net doesn't reach the platform of the mattress. Unfortunately, this creates a potential choking point between the wall and the mattress. We will definitely stop using it once baby learns to roll over. We don't like that it barely rolls on carpet. Casters were a good idea, but if you don't have a hardwood floor in your bedroom, there's nowhere to roll them. It takes quite a long time to spin all the wheels and we never use it. Too bad, because the child likes to be rocked. Aside from those little things, however, we really like this carrycot and it was a godsend to be able to check on the baby in the middle of the night. We really wish they taped the walls to the mattress so we could comfortably keep her in the cradle longer, but we'll have to take her somewhere else if she can ride. All in all a great bassinet if you want to use something from your bed. We are very glad we have it.
