I bought this as a teething toy for my 4 mo old daughter. The toy is too thick and too flexible for her to put it into her mouth - she could only do it if she got the angle of the toy just right. The sections on the toy are easy to twist around which means that an older child can make different shapes with it and have fun that way but for a 4 mo old who just wants to stick it into her mouth and chew on it, the movable sections means that if she doesn't have the toy lined up exactly sideways so that she can wrap her lips/gums around/on it, her lips end up pushing the section of toy away from her mouth, making one very frustrated baby. Seems like this would be a fun toy for an older child but it doesn't work as a teething toy.
