Review on 🍲 Vitamix Ascent Series Blending Bowls - Self-Detect Technology - Clear - 8 oz. (Set of 2) by Steve Whited

It also works with older series if you have an adapter!

I have an outdated Vitamix 5200 series (purchased from Costco) and have been wondering for too long if it would work with my blender. Unfortunately, I waited too long and ended up buying several other (non-Vitamix) options and spending money where I shouldn't have. I blame the Vitamix marketing department entirely. Let me get to the point: This mixing bowl will work with your Legacy Vitamix as long as you have the adapter that came with your personal Vitamix mug and adapter. However, I strongly advise Vitamix to stop advertising and selling them exclusively as Ascent series blender attachments (why not repackage the mixing bowls with an adapter for the deprecated bulk? Really annoying marketing and sales move!). Apparently the self-detection feature doesn't work with the legacy series, but nobody I know changes mixers because of that. I'm a little annoyed that I had to wait so long to purchase these bowls as my Legacy Vitamix is now *much* more convenient to use (looks like I use it at least a couple of times a week vs once one blue moon before). . . , because of the huge pitcher that made me feel bad about wasting water every time I used it). These mixing bowls get a plus from me for being dishwasher safe. And another plus for the fact that it is intended for people of normal height. Now my use case: I use it quite often to mix spices for my South Indian cooking. I haven't tried making thogayals etc out of it, but I suspect it will work for that purpose. Some South Indian chutneys and spice mixes have to be quite coarse; This bowl may or may not be suitable for this purpose, but South Indian cuisine is complex in this regard and not suited to modern cooking. Also, if you're buying for the above purpose, be aware that it's quite a bulky adapter device, which makes the workflow a bit more difficult (e.g. checking that the blender has done its job a couple of times). Despite all these downsides, and the obvious downsides of buying a beast with a jar for giants and trolls who don't care about sustainable water use, this combo is the best choice for South Indian food. By the way, the dosai batter is ready and will completely and undeniably disgrace your preeti mixi. [By the way, speaking of all this, will Vitamix kill making a simple 24-ounce can? The 32-ounce jar is obviously aimed at people with various medical conditions, while the 64-ounce jar is clearly aimed at the troll market. Is there anything you would sell normal sized people Vitamix? And while you're at it, make sure they're dishwasher safe. The last one I checked was 2019.]
