This review is for the DSLR version. This is a real tripod as it only has 3 legs instead of 5 as in some photos. I was a little skeptical at first as several camera review sites didn't give this mount a particularly high rating for holding a full size DSLR and only suggested using it to mount an external flash. The clasp is strong, the legs are quite flexible. I'm a little hesitant about how many times you can bend your legs before the inner metal cracks from fatigue. Some off-site reviews give this review a lower rating because one foot can't support the heavy camera. That's right. My camera (Nikon D5100 with 300mm telephoto lens) weighs 1,162 kg. The mount supports 1.2 kg/2.6 lbs. That means each leg can withstand a load of 0.4 kg/0.86 lbs. Thus one leg would not support the full weight of a full size DSLR without flexing. But in general this mount holds up better than advertised. The only downside to this mount is its size - it's a bit big. It doesn't fit well in my camera backpack, and the protruding mounting screw scratches anything it touches (I'll probably find a plastic screw cover). Overall, the mount is solid and does what it promises. I needed this because I like to shoot a lot of ground/floor up shots and this flexible mount suits my needs.
