Review on πŸ’½ WestDigital External Drive 4 - Socket Enclosure by Jeremy Choi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hub, external SSD and room for expansion.

This HUB/SSD enclosure was a valuable upgrade for my laptop. My previous hub stopped working so I bought this one after researching Revain. This i Jam is packed with features. I am very satisfied with this product. Pros: - Provides a UCB-C connection to your computer, freeing up remaining ports on your computer. From that single USB-C connection comes two USB3.1 ports, a full-size SD card slot, a microSD card slot (you can only use one slot at a time, btw), a USB-C PD port that offers up to 100% charging power, a 4K HDMI port and, most importantly, a 10GB USB-C/3.1 port. This allows me to daisy chain additional devices like another external SSD or even another hub if I need connections. I used another external SSD this way and it worked flawlessly. I haven't tried the optional HDMI, so I can't say if it works. - The body is made of 100% aluminum, making it strong and durable. - The box has all the necessary screws (I even had a few extra) to attach the .2 SSD, as well as screws to close the back panel. The kit also includes a small screwdriver. The kit also includes small rubber pads to cushion the case when placed on a table. All ports except for the USB-C expansion port are on one side of the case. This prevents that wires are placed everywhere because they don't connect on both sides. Cons: - To access the SSD you have to remove the screws from the back, so a quick internal SSD swap is not possible. - The included USB-C interface cable between the case and the computer is thick, so it is not easy to bend. The device is often on my desk where the cable goes.
