Phenomenal - Bass/Fit problem solved.

I didn't know the sound of Beyerdynamic until recently when I bought the Lagoon Premium ANC headphones and most recently the Amiron Wireless Copper. About my past - I'm a music fan aka "audiophile". I am a professional musician, concert and recording artist, and sound and music are my life. My last interest was in a really great set of wireless cans for late night listening at home when I can't use my big audio system. I've gone through the BW PX (which I have), PX7, Shure Aeonic 50, Lagoons, Sony MX3, Dali IO6 and maybe a few others. Before I get to the Amiron, I want to say that my priority when listening to wireless headphones is SOUND QUALITY, noise cancellation is second and not that important to me. I also fully understand that Bluetooth headphones cannot and should not be compared to wired ones. In this respect, the Amiron is the best example of Bluetooth devices that comes close to "musical perfection". They have incredible detail from the lowest to the highest ends of the audio spectrum, perfectly mixed and balanced for "smooth musical nirvana". I would like to address an important issue regarding bass. Many people and reviewers report weak/insufficient bass due to poor fit. While that's true, it's an easy fix - to hear the Amyrons' bass, they need to be perfectly fitted to the ears with the right seal - and they have them stocked. When you press the cups to your ears, all bass should be heard and felt immediately. If this happens you can increase the clamping force and ensure a good seal by gently bending the metal tabs just in front of the Y connector - see my photo for the exact location. They should be corrected. I did that and god it fixed the bass problem. I have perfect filling and while the comfort is no worse, the bass is there now and the tonal balance is just amazing! A few words about the sound - the bass is deep, and I mean deep. When you have a song with deep bass, you will hear it and feel the impact. Please don't confuse a balanced sound signature with "bass-heavy", that's not it! Lows are very clear, clean, tight, weighty and defined. Bass isn't blown and doesn't ooze into the lower mids. He is, and he shows what's in music when it's in it. The low mids are full, structured and blended perfectly into the mix. The upper mids are extremely natural in tone color - male and female voices sound "in the middle". Mid-register instruments sound very realistic, with an abundance of micro-textures. Strings, piano, harpsichord, human voices. The upper register is extremely stretched out, clean, transparent and never squeaks or is too detailed to be distracted. All in all, the entire Amiron setup creates the feeling of an expansive soundstage (pretty impressive for a closed design!) with the sound all around you. You're in the middle of the stage and there's a lot of air and separation between the instruments. Never feel constipated. Beyerdymanic has really done something special here, and these are probably the most musical and 'best' wireless headphones out there. Of course, they are in the neutral-natural voice spectrum, as all hi-fi class phones should be. There are other headphones with very different settings that can appeal to different personal preferences. However, I can say that the Amiron are absolutely Hi-Fi "audiophile" cans in the wireless package. It's just liquid musical magic that she exudes with pretty much every genre of music I've thrown at her. Comfort is excellent even with the raised clamp setting which was key to getting all the bass out and they remain extremely comfortable on my head after 2-3 hours of listening. Hope that helps!
