For the IT professional, they ultimately leave a lot to be desired. If you want full gigabit speeds instead, look elsewhere. Mesh devices alone are slow, adding about 5-10ms of latency between your local devices. If you're using a mesh satellite backhaul, you're lucky to get 500 Mbps at 75 feet behind a wall. A good 802.11ac AP does about 80% of what it can for a similar or lower price. My final vote is save your money on something like Google's mesh hub unless you're replacing old hardware. Otherwise, the speed and latency of these devices will not be optimal.
