I bought this and a Honeywell fan. Asin: B00YU0W3CY I like the 02Cool fan better. Basically it's easier to put in batteries and this fan has 2 different speed settings. This fan also comes with a USB adapter, so I use the Goal Zero Guide 10. Asin B00D2SQ6W8 instead, as they don't have over-discharge protection like other battery-powered portable fans. I use a rechargeable one, but if you leave the fan on, it still runs slower. They may have a lye cutoff point, but I prefer not to use them as they can leak into the device and I've seen a few actually burn the metal contacts. So if you relax or just forget to turn it off, it just keeps draining batteries. That's when I settled on my Goal Zero device as it has over-discharge protection and will shut off the power if it runs out of power. You might have a bunch of cells inside anyways as I think it's primarily configured to use USB. I have to find out because I'm not sure. They have portable fans that run on D cell batteries but I've found this fan to cool you down pretty well, I might have to take it to work. on very hot days. It would also be ideal in a car if you don't want to start the engine and still want to stay cool. All in all it's great, everyone should get one of these if you don't have electricity at home but need a fan to keep you cool. Get a few of these and you'll feel even cooler placing them around you.
