Review on πŸ”’ Dritz Heavy Duty Black Snaps 5/8 inch by Tara Ford

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good shots for what I need.

Bought to "fix" a thermal lined sweatshirt that had a broken zipper. I haven't done this project as of March 24th, but I used them to attach a piece of webbing to a soft side cooler bag and they worked great to replace the rough velcro ring they came with. They snap in securely and firmly and fit my needs. I installed them using the "BTSKY 11pcs DIY Leather Craft Tool Die Punch Snap Kit Tool for Installing Rivets with Punch Hole Base and Installing Rivet Button" installed here on Revain. There are many such versatile toolkits out there by the way, I chose this one because it was the cheapest with Prime at the time I needed it. (Don't judge me lol) The other perk of this particular tool was a separate round anvil that was smooth for snaps. However, the largest cup on the metal strip was just the right size for the decorative caps on it, so any of these tools sold here "should" work with these snaps. I used the back of the metal "cup strip" to hammer the bottom of the latches. the feeling of what you do First I tried installing these latches in too much foam. Screwed up two this way because I was in denial. (Foam squeezes, so this should work! Wrong! LOL) Messed up two other posts: one figuring out where to hammer the flat side, and one trying to install it through two layers of webbing. Eventually I got a feel for it and I'm pretty confident that I can install it in the future without too much loss in instant publishing. If Dritz only sells ground posts please let me know. I can save the ones I screwed up! I hope this helps someone repeat my mistakes. There are some good videos on YouTube showing how to use the tools and even though I watched them I still had to figure out how to install them.
