I had my doubts reading only one and two star reviews but all the landlines seemed too pathetic to buy. I had to replace my old Uniden because even the new batteries didn't hold a charge, so I took a chance (desperately trying to ignore the price and opted for an additional receiver) and was very pleasantly surprised. Firstly I'm lazy when the box arrived (which was my only downside because it wasn't in an unmarked box and if anyone wanted it it could easily see from the street that it was in my entryway, and they steal). took it in to see. Quite simply, the receivers require the supplied batteries and must be plugged in - done! The base then fixed it to the wall, which I couldn't do with my old Uniden, so I'm happier. Batteries are inserted and being charged. So I look at the handhelds and start pressing the buttons, it's clear what they're doing, and I was able to adjust the ringtone and noise cancellation later after my first call. So I got even more interested and found out where to connect the cell phone. I got to the part where it said connect, went to my camera, put them on a pair - DONE! Just so fast. I called myself and it worked great. I called someone and they called me and it worked great. I then went to send the time and date and found an error and had to take the 'quick' manual. I found out that two arrows pointing at each other represented a "star" (who would have known). Furnished! If I don't do anything other than block the call at this point, I'll be fine until I die. After reading the quick start guide I could see where some had found the extra two codes for other things, but I'm just as happy as I was with my new Android phone trying to figure out what it can and still doesn't have all functions found. So I'm fine. Tomorrow I might even leave a message for others on the phone (but do I really need people to hear "leave a message because I'm not around") my cell phone (I rarely check at home and get so much frustrated because I not strapping it to my waist) and I picked up the phone by the sun lounger and the wall, spoke to someone who said I didn't answer his texts. Ah! I'm glad I took the chance. Now if I can find a good station with a wireless thermometer (try looking through these tidbit feedbacks). L8R
