I would use these face paints whether I like them or not because there are no other paints that have standards for toxins like lead and cadmium. However, they work well. We have them in all colors and used them to draw the Calavera Catrina design on one of our daughters and Coraline's creepy 'different mother' design on the other. They both looked amazing. The colors stay for a while. The original set has lasted us for 4 years throughout the annual Halloween celebrations and Spring Theater productions. We just changed the order so we have a lot of black and white pics for upcoming events. Because it is a lube based cosmetic, it has more holding power and less smudging when sealed with powder. A small sachet of powder is included, but cornstarch works just as well in my experience. The same properties mean that oil-based removal is the most effective. We use coconut and then soap and water. Overall, it's great that Elegant Minerals offers a non-toxic and effective face paint.
