I'd rather go barefoot everywhere, but there are occasions and places where closed-toe shoes are required (where flip-flops won't do, like at the gym). I was looking for a pair of minimalist shoes that would fit that bill and came across these FitKicks. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. The bottom is too thick for my liking, which eliminates a lot of the barefoot feel. I found that the pillow inside can be removed leaving a surface full of little spiky bits which turns out to be a good foot massage! The lack of arch support is a plus, since the foot does not need it, and the presence of such a support weakens the muscles and ligaments of the foot. It would be nice if the toe box was wider as my feet are used to being without. shoes and have straight toes that will not be deformed by the shoes. These FitKicks pinch my toes a bit, luckily the material of the shoe is soft and I don't plan on wearing them for more than an hour every other day. and light. But I go barefoot, and the best shoes aren't shoes at all. FitKicks allow me to work out in the gym and not wear heavy and expensive "sneakers".
