I've had this unit running for about 6 months now and an alarm goes off every few weeks saying the drive in bay 1 has failed. After inserting a new drive, it takes days to rebuild the RAID and when it does, it won't mount on my Mac. After my 4th "disk failure" in just a few months, I'm ready to shut down this thing. By the way, after the alleged failures, all drives passed the tests very well. EDIT - I've upped my rating a few stars because of the service I received. The company has been investigating the issue and there appears to be a problem with certain Western Digital drives that I own. They gave me a solution suggestion, which was to buy another non-WD hard drive. After going back and forth with WD for a bit, they decided they wouldn't have a solution anytime soon. We sent a partial refund for the inconvenience. I'm using this refund to pay for the drive you recommended so I can get this RAID unit up and running again. Aside from that particular issue with that particular drive, this is a solid device. The drives in question were 8TB Western Digital Red.
