This is a great scraper but the 'carpet' is felt and deteriorated within a day. Within the first 10 minutes, one of the cats pulled part of it out of the wooden base. If they used a heavier fabric or added another piece of Sisel in place of the gray carpeting, this would be the best scratching post I've ever bought. Somehow I have to fix this myself. That is depressing. I also wanted to note that there are two small cue balls. One on top and one in a hidden hole below. Too damn cool. The base is wide enough: no cat will knock it over even if it climbs on it. It's also heavy enough to stay secure but not too heavy to move around with. And the packaging is the most efficient and useful use of space I've seen on this site. Hats off. Overall, this is actually a great scraper. The felt floor is destroyed. But to their credit, the plastic bottom inside is the same color as the fabric. So when you rip it off, maybe you don't even notice it? Either way, it's a keeper and my cats love it. All for less than $40.
