That's how it all started well and good. I have thick but fine hair that is naturally very straight and this allowed for optimal temperature control to minimize damage while also being a super efficient curling iron. I'm not sure what changed, but after just a year the temperature control started to fail! I set it to the same 340-360F I've always used but it started to BURN MY HAIR PIECES. Let's get something straight: I'm 34 and have been styling my hair with hot tools for about 20 years and have never had a problem with burning my hair. The first time this happened I chalked it up, maybe I turned the temp dial up to 450 and then back to the original setting after it happened (sort of), but the second time it happened I made sure again it was in the normal range i held it in. However, with the same use, I also found that the device's power control mechanism had stopped working entirely - it just burned my hair again and now won't turn on. on or off My only (unfounded) conclusion is that something went wrong with his temperature control mechanism and he blew the circuit. The thing is I have the option to return it through Amazon and I'm very disappointed considering it was quite an expensive purchase. .
