Review on WAVLINK USB 3.0 Universal Laptop Docking Station: Dual Monitor Display, Gigabit Ethernet, and Multiple USB Ports for PC, Tablets, Android Phones (HDMI, DVI & VGA; 2 Red Charging Ports, Audio) by Tony Reid

The perfect docking station for my purposes. Everything works great.

I am using this dock with a cheap Lenovo laptop that is not very powerful. Everything I need works great. Windows 10 was smart enough to find and download compatible drivers so I didn't even have to go to the website for this dock driver software. an analogue VGA cable is connected via the supplied adapter. Both work smoothly and without failures. I have wired internet access on LAN port and the speed test is a happy experience. I'm using a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse adapter in one of the USB 2 ports. I can't believe how well this thing works to help me with the usability on this small laptop. can i play on it No of course not. But I can certainly run spreadsheets, virtual desktops, web pages, etc. on dual monitors from scratch. Problems, and the monitor on my laptop works too! My only minor thing - nothing to complain about - I'd like to see power, LAN, USB3 input and monitor ports on the back of the unit and USB on the front. Looking at it on my desk, it's a tan of exposed wires around some of the USB ports. I'd rather have a mess of wires somewhere else and a clean panel of USB ports on my desk to plug in whatever I want to connect. Very small complaint - everything works great. This little box just gets on my nerves.

Pros
  • System support: Windows 10, 8, 7 and older XP systems, Chrome OS R55, macOS 10.15.1 and higher. Surface RT, Mac OS/Linux/Unix are not supported. The docking station is recommended for use with web applications and productivity software; not recommended for gaming (see Display Link website for more info)
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
