I bought this case two weeks ago and am generally pleased with the looks and build quality. Edges that can easily scratch the watch or cut the back of the hand. The first day I bought it I hit the back of my hand on the plate and it left a 2 inch bleeding scratch, so I quickly grabbed a file and smoothed out the raw, razor sharp metal burrs. When I did this, I remember thinking that the cover itself, even smoothed, could easily scratch the watch when accessing the case. Looking back, I should have returned it at that point. Two weeks later by swapping out the watch from the case, my fears were justified when the lid accidentally tipped forward and a decorative metal plate fell on the bezel of a watch I was wearing, a brand new Rolex Explorer II, and a couple of ugly ones left scratches on the brushed steel. I now understand that scratches are part of watch ownership, but it's sadly ironic when they come from a watch case. In the end I decided to keep the case but remove the board, which meant cutting through the inner skin and clumsily unscrewing two nuts set deep into the sub-board. The case was so solidly built, but in my opinion the design is critically flawed. The watch case should not have any protrusions that can easily scratch the things it is designed to protect.
