Review on πŸ“€ Sony DVP-NS77H/B: High-Definition HDMI DVD Player with 1080p Upscaling in Black by Ryan Nguyen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It does what it's supposed to do

For some reason the idea of a DVD player that would upgrade a standard DVD to a clone HD DVD seemed a little fishy. I have just replaced our old tube TV with a 40 inch high definition LCD TV. The old DVD player seemed to give good results, but curiosity got the better of me. I only chose Sony because the TV was Sony. Other, cheaper brands might be just as good. By connecting both DVD players to the same TV, I was able to try the same DVD on both and see if there was a difference. That was it. Image with upscaling player The Sony was noticeably better. There are far fewer pixels. But don't expect miracles. It doesn't reach the clarity of Blue Ray. I'm pretty happy with it until a) the price of blue ray players comes down and b) a lot more blue ray discs come out.

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Has been damaged
