I ordered them in navy blue first; I wanted to wear shorts over a bathing suit while cruising down the river. When I tried them on I decided to order a black and gray combo set as well. They are very light and comfortable. Yes, the legs are wide and sit quite freely. I will only wear them at home or for very casual outdoor activities. If you're looking for stylish pieces, you probably won't like them, but if you're looking for comfort like I do, you'll probably be pretty happy with them. I removed the ties because the waist is tight enough and I don't want to mess with the ties.
