Unlike the original part, this one doesn't have a metal shaft. I had to reuse the old one. Here's how I transferred the stem from the old actuator to the new one: 1) removed the white plastic stem retainer from the old actuator using a screwdriver, 2) removed the stem from the bottom of the retainer, 3) removed the retainer from the new actuator, 4) installed the shaft from the bottom of the holder. 5) Slide the holder onto the new actuator. Using an impact wrench, remove the screws holding the drive. Using a long screwdriver, pry the rod out of the inside door handle. Unscrew the window channel to move the actuator. It took me 2 hours to swap. The door lock eliminated the hum of the old drive. Hopefully the aftermarket part will last for years.
