I bought this for my mother who is in a nursing home so she can watch some of my daughter's events that I recorded. I have not actually used the player myself as I am currently banned from the facility due to COVID. But the HD DVDs I created won't play in the player. She can watch store bought movies but the ones I sent her won't play. I brought the DVDs home to make sure I had them and everything ready and found that they played on both DVD players I have at home. So I sent them back to try again and they still didn't work. One of the technicians even helped her. The price was good so I let her keep the player so she could watch movies but I bought it for home DVDs. Based on the description it sounded like it would reproduce pretty much anything - I think I found something it wouldn't reproduce.
