The Insignia remote control that came with the TV suddenly stopped working. When I changed the batteries, it got very hot and smelled like fire! Oh god I keep thinking what if I left the house; He was on my bed! I was scared to death ordering the same remote again. I put batteries in this little remote and boom, no problem. I was concerned about damaging the remote because it was impossible to peel off the back panel without pressing the side volume buttons. The main difference I learned is that you can't just press the buttons like in the original, you have to HOLD the buttons a bit longer. The asterisk is the channel guide. The blank button to the left of the star is the TV menu button. The blank help button is Hulu. I don't see the back button doing anything at all. it does everything i need at a great price.
