First off, the adapter is deceptively unintuitive to use as it is simply an adapter. To function properly, the + HDMI adapter cable must be connected to the source's DisplayPort FIRST and then the other end to the display's HDMI port. If you change the order, Windows and display drivers will assume that the adapter itself is your monitor and limit your output to a maximum resolution of 1080p/60Hz. The order of connection is important because the active adapter requires power from the DisplayPort , before it can see the HDMI sides. May be? Still, a little instruction, even just 1-2 sentences, must come with the adapter, otherwise it's just a bit counterintuitive to call it plug and play. In addition, however, the output was limited to 4K/30Hz even after handling the adapter correctly. My 4K/60Hz TV is recognized by the operating system and gives me the option to select 60Hz in the Windows graphics drivers and display settings, but the selection does nothing other than revert to the previously used settings. So I think it's still fine if you're just watching movies, but using a mouse at 30fps is a terrible experience with a computer in general, so it's hard to recommend.
