This cover is exactly the same as the original part; very soft and will break over time. Like everyone else, I found that my original lid had partially melted. Luckily it didn't melt on the switch itself but stuck to the plastic bracket. The hardest part for me was getting the crappy little OEM screws off without disassembling the inner hatch cover on my 2010 Sienna. I used a Phillips head screwdriver to loosen the screws just enough that I could use pliers to completely loosen and remove them. I then used a flat head screwdriver as a wedge to pry the plastic bracket off the car where it was dangling from a few inches of wire to have enough access to clean it. I was afraid that the leftover Goo Gone would hasten the destruction of the new lid, so I used a utility knife to remove enough Goo for the new lid to fit the mount. Then I put the assembly back into the body of the car and replaced the bolts. The screws that came with the new cover were of better quality than the OEM ones (big and deep head), making them much easier to install. Dealers ask for hundreds, but they replace all parts, not just the cover, after removing the inner sunroof cover. If I keep the car for another five years, I will renew this coating and not wait for it to break. Update November 2020: No problem, works like the original.
