This year I got a fresh turkey from a local farm and they told me brine. I did, but the mess was discouraging. In addition, I had a brine with a large amount of salt, herbs, oils, spices and other secrets. It turns any bucket or jar into a mess! So I wanted to find a way without pickling the whole mess and came across these packs of pickles. This works GREAT! I was able to fit a 22-23 pound brine turkey with plenty of room in the back. There were also small pieces of feathers that could be sharp but would not pierce the bag. The pouch held the turkey for about 1-2 days and was easy to remove. Doesn't run out of pocket. I just sealed it and threw it away with all the pickle and herbs and other secrets. No matter how graciously the brine or turkey even touched my bucket! (This can be seen from the oils and brine visible on whatever he touched). So I definitely recommend this product to anyone who is an experienced cook or a beginner spring chicken! (pun intended).
