I like everything about it except the backlight, but I don't have to use it. The fan has three speeds. You can use it anywhere. I even have them in the church when it's stuffy in there it's very quiet and not as distracting as a fan. I live in the Phoenix area and when it's 110 degrees outside it's just a life saver. I don't leave the house without one all summer long. It charges using a phone or tablet charger and takes anywhere from 4 to 8 hours to charge depending on the speed used.
