Good support for healthy ankles, injured ankles are too painful to "break in "

Purchased a month after my ankle surgery when I was about to switch back from air boots to regular shoes on the injured side. I wanted extra ankle support to make sure I didn't break them again. But when I looked at the reviews on Amazon, I couldn't decide between this and the lace-up bandage #1: lace-up bandage with stabilizing band for flexible support. Product Stop breathable neoprene braces. (Small) so I bought both, better spend some money than risk getting hurt again and having another surgery. In the end I don't think it was a waste of time at all as both have served me well at various stages of my recovery. As other reviewers have pointed out, this one requires some 'breaking in', well breaking in was too painful for the ankle with nails and metal plates inside and right out of the boot. The lace and strap model was NOT as flexible as its name sounds, but it offered a painless, secure fit straight out of the air boot. The benefit of this for my healthy ankle, or if the injured ankle is fully healed and pain free then it has obvious advantages over the other: 1) easy donning; I put it in the shoes I'm going to wear the next day the night before, so it takes almost no extra time in the morning when I go to work. The second has to be put on after socks, so it takes a little longer every morning. 2) It's good for hours of practice. Another, I felt pain as the leading edge rubbed against the bottom of my foot while walking about 23 miles. He didn't have this problem at all, since his bottom was inserted under the sole of the sneakers. I didn't feel the "break-in period" either when wearing it on my healthy ankle or months after the injury had fully healed. So T2 is excruciatingly painful to break in an injured/recovering ankle; but after healing, T2 gives good results. Support during many training sessions. I'm glad I bought both during my recovery.
