I was born and raised in South Florida and have been using some form of lip balm for over 30 years, primarily to keep my sensitive lips from chapping. This, of course, became common usage, and it was good. Lips can never be too soft, right? As I get older I have some perspective and maybe some paranoia about the products I use on and off my body. I can't say that Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm is any better than my previous brand overall. I still need to use it just as often and I don't feel a huge difference in the physical condition of my lips, but here's what I can write: When my lips are chapped, Berta's lip balm contains (natural) peppermint oil, which is uniquely cooling and soothing tight lips. feeling of dry lips. It feels cold when applied, but not burning cold. It's easy to apply and doesn't leave a "greasy" feeling, just moisture. It seems (i.e. the amount per tube) to last as long (maybe a little longer) as my previous brand. I feel like I apply fewer wipes than my previous brand each time to get the same effect. Here is the most important part for me. I can pronounce every ingredient in Bert's lip balm. It is 100% NATURAL. My previous brand had things like "Methylparaben, Phenyltrimethicone, Propylparaben, Red Lake 6, Saccharin" and the list goes on, but I won't list them all. What are these things? I'm not sure. Bert's Balsam has the full list of ingredients: beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, peppermint oil, lanolin, rosemary/soy/canola oil, and limonene (a colorless liquid derived from citrus fruits). I know what all those ingredients are and I'm not afraid of any of them. I use lip balm all the time so when I tried a sample from the pharmacy I knew I was going to need a few so I ordered this multi pack. of 4. They are individually wrapped and each tube is sealed with a high visibility red tab that can be opened. I have one on my bedside table, one in my purse, one on my desk, etc. Don't leave them in the car. It's real wax and you're going to have a mess (unless you live in a cold place). I don't "love" this balm enough to give it 5 stars but it's a really good product, it's natural but leaves no residue. My lips feel that full moisturized feeling that I really wish I had, but to be honest, a lip balm has never felt like this. I love this product so much it has officially replaced my previous brand. Thank you for reading.
