I want to love him, but instead I have problems.

UPDATED 05/05/2021 Serious issue shortly after the review was published: Screen flickering. It looks like this could be fixed in a software update but I haven't tried it yet! • The entire screen flickers during gameplay. It's not too obvious, but it's noticeable at the moment and I can only imagine it's only going to get worse. At first I was worried it might be my graphics card, but after some research it turned out to be a common problem with the G9. I'll try to remember to update this after I apply the software patch.! • I have narrowed the problem down to G-Sync. Disabling G-Sync completely fixes the issue. This also poses a big problem as G-Sync increases the price of this monitor. Now we must bring this beast back and then wait for another one. What a big disappointment. Pros: • Large. It is big. Very large. People will comment. It's a lot of fun • 240 Hz is nice. If you're currently below 144Hz on your current monitor, you'll be amazed. Moving from 144Hz it feels like a gradual step, which is a good thing anyway. • Three full-size windows open. That's an incredible amount of real estate. If you have ADD this will support your needs. Neutral: • Dark or black backgrounds are not recommended. When you hover over unlit squares, each square will light up. It's not critical, but it's one of those weird things you don't usually see. • Secure arm attachment options are incredibly limited and expensive. Plan on another $400 if you want a neat look. It's not the fault of the monitor or the manufacturer, but with so few options available it would be nice to have a viable alternative through the manufacturer. Cons: • When playing with the settings, I turned on the crosshairs. Now it's always on no matter what, even if I turn it off after turning off the monitor. The default setting is now on when I turn on my monitor. I have to toggle on and off in the menu every time I turn on the monitor. • Incremental "click" noise within the monitor, always from the same place. Suggests the electrical discharge is somewhere on the board. I checked the ground wire and my outlet - it's not on my side. • The stand just seems shy, which the monitor cannot support. It takes up a huge amount of desktop space to support what it does. Necessary but points out my issue with little to no arm attachment options.

Pros
  • Great screen and fantastic features
Cons
  • Poor quality. A new one arrived, but with broken pixels in the center of the screen.
