I read so many reviews on so many humidifiers and finally settled on this one because I bought one from local Target many years ago that was long dead. My climate is usually not as dry as this winter 17/18. The special price (half of what was listed in blue and white) for core members only on the day I bought was half what elsewhere; I just had to get white/white paint. I bought 3 of them. This model is silent. Easily fills the sink and has a built in carry handle. Holds enough water so you can last at least 12 hours on the highest setting. All of me tops the kitchen island, the pony wall in the living room, and the bookcase in the bedroom. The higher you turn it on the more mist will come out and if the air isn't dry enough to pick up what you set it will fall on surfaces so watch out! I don't know how many reviews I've read that gave this product less stars due to operator error. No filter required. The red indicator shows that the tank is empty. Green light indicates the device is working. The effect of light on your sleep depends entirely on your sleeping style; personally it's not bright enough to be a problem. I can't imagine the winter months without her; There is no dry skin, sinuses or lips.
