UPDATE 16.07. After updating my Mac to version 10.15.6, it said that the DisplayLink extension was no longer allowed. I updated the driver to the latest version to fix this, which it did. HOWEVER, the monitor I connected via Displayport shows up as a mirrored display of my HDMI monitor even though it shows as extended in the system settings. and I definitely did NOT have "mirror display" enabled (enabled and disabled myself to be sure). I find mirroring useless so I just lost my screen which sucks. Have a look around the internet to see if there is another solution to fix this as a driver update only partially fixed it and maybe something with that OS update? :/ Lowering my rating until this issue is resolved as supporting 2 external monitors over 1 connection was the biggest win for me. :(--------------------This docking station offers a great alternative to the octopus cables that come out of your Mac through every available connection: I don't have a super crazy setup – 2 monitors, a wired mouse, a wired keyboard, a few extra USB device ports and of course a power cord – but even for that I had to use 3 different dongles/adapters to connect everything I needed at the same time I have a MacBook Pro with 4 USB-C ports, 2 connections on each side, but I used to use a simpler TOTU dongle that centrally bundles external USB ports, 1 monitor and power cord (plus LAN connection and stuff that I just don't need). has, but that meant I still needed a separate adapter to connect a second monitor, as well as another adapter for an extra USB c port.(Due to my work, I need a few extra Connect devices to my computer via USB). With this dock, it's now all possible via 1 connection! This requires the use of DisplayPort for a second or third monitor, not all HDMI, but the functionality is there after all. I have plenty of USB ports for my keyboard and mouse and the ability to plug in those extra devices if needed, which is nice as the power for the dock itself also charges the laptop so I don't have to worry about a separate connection. . It's also about power! This frees up my desk as I can finally combine all the cables instead of fighting them all over my desk to connect to my Mac from all sides and it's a good, simple and stylish device. It should be noted that in order for Display Port connections to work, you need to install an additional driver on your computer, which also requires you to grant additional permissions due to more restrictive permissions in later versions of Mac OS. This bothered me at first because the computer is for my work and we work with very sensitive information, but that seems to be what Apple needs for the kernel extensions needed to connect the display. When working with the installation to install an additional driver, the technical support was very helpful and pleasant! Even if you didn't have this enabled or only had 1 external monitor to start, it still got me 1 connection to my laptop and made my desktop look clearer and cleaner, so I'd say it was so worth it!
