I bought these for my older kitty who needed a warm bed to sleep at night. He is very soft and fluffy which he loves. He jumps up immediately when he's ready for bed. I always cover him with a blanket, and the bed gets very warm from the warmth of his body. It puked once and I just wiped the dirty spot in the sink then put it in the dryer for 20 minutes and it was like new. Also, if made into a round bed rather than a rug, the bed will be small. My cat is tiny so it fits great but me being chubby might fall out a bit.
