I bought this as part of a gift for my 5 year old daughter from her grandparents. She liked it and wanted to open it immediately. By convincing her to wait until better times (rather than in the parking lot), she was able to wait until the next day. She was so excited - the girl loves needlework, especially when it comes to paints, gems and glitter. She tends to have a short attention span, but she worked very hard on this project and lasted much longer than I expected. The materials were varied and there was enough left over to use later in her art box for another project. The glue seems to be holding well. It hasn't broken due to her 2 year old brother's rough play and all the gems are intact (I was afraid they wouldn't stick with the amount of paint she used. The band was quite thick, therefore it was not easy to tie ). uncomfortable, and we knitted instead of trying to make a loop. It could easily have been repaired by cutting it in half, but she didn't want that. Definitely worth its price. She even kept the clutter to a minimum, which is uncharacteristic of her, and a little clutter in there was easy to clean up. She is very proud of her wand and in fact both of my children have played with it quite a bit. I even considered using it as a gift for our next birthday party.
