The device I received plays a 6 second distorted medieval tune through a ridiculously cheap speaker every time the boot/load sequence is activated. The description didn't say anything about it at the time of my purchase so I contacted the seller and he informed me that there is a model update and all new models have sound. There's supposedly a way to turn off the sound, but the instructions are ambiguous, written in poor English, and the customer service wasn't much better. Since I couldn't mute the sound with the software switch, I thought of opening the case to simply cut the speaker wire. But the device appears to be a lot cheaper than $40, and according to other customers, it doesn't even do a very good job of consistently delivering the charge. I really wanted to like it. It's a pretty fun concept and I don't mind paying $40 for a fun but functional novelty. But the quality is on the low side for $40 and the sound is an absolute deal breaker if (like me) you plan on using this at work. I would only recommend this article if you want to be the "guy" in the office who gets on everyone's nerves. For this purpose it would be ideal.
