When I received this product I was surprised by its weight. I realized that the entire product is made of metal and is very durable. Perfect fit for my Honda CRF 250X. The footrest footrest consists of two parts that bolt together and hold the footrest in place. It even came with an Allen key. My roller coaster no longer sinks in the mud. The product is very durable and well made, so I expect it to last a long time. The only downside is that metal is heavier than plastic. I used to have a plastic footrest that became brittle and broke (was very easy). I assume this one will last much longer.
